Spring - From the Desert to the Mountains!

So much has happened this Spring, that I just haven't taken the time to "blog" to you. Now I will add a little synopsis with some photos...

"Springtime at Cabeza Prieta" in a gallery wrapped canvas giclée was chosen by my friend, Dorothy,  for her newly decorated guest room. When she saw my post about "green is in!", she wholeheartedly agreed and painted the walls a beautiful shade of green that compliments this painting so well
Thank you, Dorothy!

The Artists' Spring Marketplace took me back to Flagstaff where I had a chance to share my new work with my Northland friends. I especially enjoyed sharing another mini painting in my "Slice of Arizona" series. This time it is the San Francisco Peaks. Framed at 5"x11", isn't it cute?  I plan to do some larger paintings in this series, but these minis are only available as originals.

Then we were off to Albuquerque for a special week with my son and family - more on that later. But I was also able to visit with a former co-worker from Scottsdale Healthcare and see how she had framed and hung her Limited Edition Giclée of  "Heidi's Peaches". Ann's kitchen walls are painted a soft yellow and this watercolor looked beautiful also!
Thank you, Ann for choosing one of my paintings!

Then, our special family time in ABQ was planned so we could attend Heidi's graduation from the College of Pharmacy, UNM! Our son, Shane and their 2 boys, Ian and Cade show how proud we all are of Heidi!
I'll close now with a reminder about my Etsy Shop. It is growing and getting lots of attention from other Etsy fans. I hope you will follow me on this new endeavor at www.Etsy.com/Shop/CatherineSickafoose Thanks for all your support!

Happy Easter!

Wishing you a Happy Easter and a beautiful Spring! Yes, I know some of you are still in the midst of winter, but spring will soon be on your doorstep too! And what is more perfect than a bouquet of daffodils? Well, maybe a watercolor of some of those yellow beauties! In reading about the language of flowers, daffodils represent chivalry and uncertainty as well as being the Flower of Easter.

Now if you would like to have a giclée of this daffodil image for your very own, you can shop online through Etsy! That's right! I want to introduce you to my newest venue where you will find a variety of my images for purchase.  Just go to www.etsy.com/shop/CatherineSickafoose and you will find notecards, giclées, ceramic tiles and small originals. It's still a work in progress, so check back often for updates.

Valentine tulips!

Did you know that flowers send a special message from the giver to the recipient? It's called floriography, a Victorian-era means of communicating feelings that could not be expressed openly. Tulips are a declaration of love.  This original watercolor, "Tulips: A Spring Event", image  7"x11",  is ready for you for Valentine's Day! Wouldn't this painting be special for your sweetheart or maybe just for you? Contact me and it can be yours for $149.00, matted only, includes shipping. (shhh - A Snapshots in Watercolor Blog special - no prints available and not shown yet on my website.)

Green is In for 2013!!!

In my January newsletter, I talked about the color green. Those folks who choose the "color of the year", have done it again and this time it is GREEN! And not just any green, but EMERALD GREEN! I am so happy to see one of my favorite colors and I'll tell you why. I have a large wall in my living room that I chose to paint green and selected the shade by taking some of my paintings to the store to compare their paint chips. It might be more of a kelly green, but that's ok - it's beautiful and definitely showcases my paintings - like this Arizona Columbine watercolor. The original has gone to a new home, but you can still order a Limited Edition Giclée, 14"x14" image or have another size printed just for you! Or check out my website for other paintings that will add a touch of green to your life!
